The Bergeon 6499 Jig Vise Miter Cutter is a precision bench tool for jewelers and metalsmiths who demand perfectly flat, repeatable cuts every time. Machined from super-hard tool steel rated at 58 HRC and made in Switzerland, this compact vise measures 1-7/8" × 2-3/4" and accepts stock up to 1/2" thick, including tubing, wire, and sheet metal.
The tool features two distinct guide slots: the lower opening is designed for precise 90-degree cuts, while the upper opening holds stock for accurate 45-degree cuts. Both the 90-degree slot and the 45-degree slot incorporate a small integrated stop, providing 34mm of usable length from the stop to the tool's edge — ideal for holding and cutting flat sheet pieces up to that dimension.
The Bergeon 6499 can be mounted securely in a bench vise or held comfortably in the hand. Simply saw or file against the guide slot for clean, flat results with minimal cleanup required.

Certain files — including Glardon-Vallorbe Valtitan files — are as hard as or harder than this jig vise miter cutter and may mark the surface of the tool. Applying strong force with most files can also leave marks. Surface marks are not a defect; they indicate only that the cutting tool used is harder than the vise itself.
