The Pen Pals® Disposable Plating Pen offers up to 1 hour of continuous plating with no rectifier required. This inexpensive plating pen is self-adjusting (up to 6 Volts), battery operated and disposable. It's perfect for 2-tone jewelry, sample lines, touch-ups and repairs.
This amazing little disposable pen plater works! Simply soak the fiber tip in suitable pen plating solution, attach the alligator clip to workpiece and plate. Great for touch ups and repair work. This new version has improved battery life over earlier models but if continuous use is needed we recommend a plug in pen plating system. Discard unit when plating results decline.
Plate rhodium or gold on just about any non-ferrous metals, although this pen and the solutions used with it are meant for plating on gold, silver, copper or brass.
Includes one fiber tip. Tips are replaceable. Keep fingers off tip to not contaminate plating solutions. Use tweezers for tip removal and replacement.
Manufacture recommends that you use one pen for plating rhodium and another pen for plating gold. Do not use one pen for both.
As with all plating, the solutions are hazardous and the item being plated must be totally clean.
Disposable pen plating pens make plating easy and affordable. The pens are battery operated and will last for up to one hour of continuous plating, lasting many months over normal occasional use. To use, soak the plating pen felt tip in a rhodium or gold pen plating solution concentrate (up to five minutes for first time use), connect the alligator clip to the item to be plated, and apply the saturated felt tip to the item. A quality and long lasting bright plating will result on all precious metals. Like all plating, the item to be plated must be totally clean before plating. For use with pen plating concentrates only. The white colored pen is for use with rhodium pen plating solutions; the yellow colored pen is for use with gold pen plating solutions.
