New & Improved

This is a great all wood jeweler's workbench that's safe to ship via FedEx or UPS Ground

This jeweler's workbench is carefully packed in 2 individual boxes that can ship via FedEx or UPS Ground, an economical alternative to the freight shipping required for all other jeweler's workbenches we sell. In order to ship this item for less, please be advised that there is more assembly required for this bench compared to our other benches. To get a better idea of how much assembly will be required, click on the detailed instructions for assembly below. This is a new and improved version of the safe to ship, common carrier jeweler's workbench, with even more pre-assembled components. This workbench now has pre-assembled drawers, as well as a tool tray and catch tray, making assembly much easier than before.

In addition to more pre-assembled parts, the packaging has been greatly improved, reducing the chances of cosmetic damage to the workbench in transit. While slight dings and scratches may still occur, keep in mind that this jeweler's bench is made out of solid wood parts, making minor cosmetic damage easy to remove with a little sandpaper and elbow grease.

We highly recommend that you use high quality wood glue (not supplied) when screwing together the body of this bench. This will make the assembled bench significantly more rigid.

This aesthetically pleasing, all-wood bench, when properly assembled with high quality wood glue, will be as stable as our California made, jeweler's workbenches which require expensive freight shipping and use particle board instead of the solid wood used in this workbench.

Please take a look at our detailed images to see exactly what you can expect with this workbench.

Pros

  • Ships common carrier; no expensive truck freight
  • All wood construction made of ecologically friendly Rubber wood*
  • Looks nice!
  • Over 5000 units sold
  • Most economical jeweler's workbench

Cons

  • Assembly required
  • Additional owner finishing could be required since some parts may have minor dings and dents from packing and shipping
  • This bench comes in two boxes 44" x 24" x 9" 50 lbs. and 36" x 20" x 16" 50 lbs.

Please take a look at our pdf of the assembly instructions before purchasing. Claims for damages must be placed through selected carrier.

Rubber wood is a light colored medium density tropical hardwood obtained from the Para rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis), usually from trees grown in rubber plantations. Rubber wood is commonly advertised as "environmentally friendly" wood, as it makes use of plantation trees that have already served a useful function.

Grobet Heavy Duty Jewelers Workbench

VERY HAPPY WITH MY NEW Grobet Heavy Duty Jewelers Workbench. Customer service was AMAZING. I ordered the bench on Monday... received it on Wednesday. Took about 1 hour to put it together (took my time doing it) and everything fit perfectly. All holes lined up and it is very solid... great bench. I would definitely recommend it.

Good Bench at a Great Price.

I purchased this Bench for my Apprentice who had been working on a small table-top unit which she had quickly outgrown. We found the Instruction quite adequate and took the suggestions of other reviewers and used a good wood glue at all crucial support joints. It is on the lighter side over my 36yo particleboard/plywood bench but seems quite sturdy and well-made. The ONLY 'drawback' I see with this model is that the wood used is quite soft. I could "dent" the top by simply writing something on a piece of paper with a ballpoint pen. We have remedied that by putting a thin sheet of pressed board over the main work area. If someone is going to do a great deal of heavy hammering or high pressure work on a perch-mounted engraving ball, I might think about a Bench made of denser wood. Otherwise, this is a good deal!

First Bench

All went well putting it together until I went to put the hardware in to attach the bench top to the legs. The rear predrilled holes didn't line up at all. The drawer faces were also loose, tried to bang them back together but they just kept coming loose. think I'm going to have to take home off and glue them. Otherwise, really excited to have my first bench all set up.
