The Mettler JL6001GE/A Legal for Trade 6200 Grams x 0.1 Gram Multi-Function Scale is the latest in the line of precision scales that are the standard that all other gold scales are measured against. Made exclusively for the jewelry industry, the Mettler JL6001GE/A Multi-function scale has a 6200 gram capacity and is accurate to 0.1 gram  As a multi-function scale it also weighs in carats, kilograms, milligrams, pounds, troy ounces, avoirdupois ounces, grain, and DWT (pennyweight).  This scale can be programmed to quickly toggle between any 2 of the weighing modes available.  You can set it up to go between grams and pennyweights or grams and troy ounces-or you can use it as it comes out of the box and toggle through all the weighing modes.

The 6200 gram capacity translates into 199 troy ounces (3980 pennyweights).  Although this scale does weigh in carats, it does not have the accuracy (0.50ct) to be considered a diamond scale.  

This version, with the GE/A designation for the American market, meets the requirements for use in the USA as a Class II weighing device as defined by Handbook 44 and complies with the applicable technical requirements of "NIST Handbook 44: Specifications, Tolerances and Other Technical Requirements for Weighing and Measuring Devices".
