Polariscope Tabletop-110V

A polariscope is used to differentiate between singly (isotropic) and doubly refractive (anisotropoic) stones. A stone is placed between two polarizing filters and the top filter is then turned.

This tabletop Polariscope includes a main body with a rotating lens on top and a diffused lens on the bottom. A third separate lens is included that sits above the bottom lens. These lenses have nothing to do with magnification. There is illumination below and there is an on/off switch on the back of the unit for activating the light. No batteries required. Operates on a 110-120V outlet. Made in China.
