The Silver Economy 76mm (3") Flat Rolling Mill with Reduction Gear (Part #128.199) is Otto Frei’s best-selling economy mill for studio and classroom use. It offers dependable, light-duty performance on non-ferrous metals (silver, gold, copper, brass) with a protected reduction gear train and simple T-bar adjustment.

Care & Maintenance

• Before first use, wipe protective grease from the rolls and frame; do not remove grease from internal gears.
• Before each session, wipe rolls clean. After each session, coat rolls with light oil or grease to prevent rust; store with a lightly oiled cloth over the rolls.
• Grease side gears and the reduction gear periodically; remove covers on early units to access gears.
• Check hardware for tightness before/after use. Make many small reductions and anneal frequently.

Usage Notes & Warranty

• Light-duty mill for soft, non-ferrous metals only. Do not roll steel or other ferrous metals.
• Do not attempt to motorize or modify the unit; modifications void the warranty.

Ships well-packed. Minimal setup: wipe rolls, bolt on handle, install T-top adjuster, and align the top gears before use. Detailed roller-change instructions are provided in the manual.
