ArtClay Silver is composed of 1-20 micron-sized particles of pure silver, an organic binder, and water. This combination of materials makes clay, which can be easily molded using techniques similar to ceramic hand building processes. Then after following a very simple firing procedure, ArtClay silver turns into solid metal that can be soldered, polished or paintated just like regular silver. ArtClay silver comes in three types: ArtClay Slow Dry, ArtClay Low Fire and ArtClay Low Fire/Slow Dry. Each has different firing times, firing temperatures and working times, but all three will leave you with a piece of jewelry that is 99.9% pure silver.

Otto Frei sells a variety of kilns that are made for firing ArtClay silver products. Choose from our line of special metal clay programmed Sierra Kilns or use the inexpensive Ultralite Kiln. You can even fire ArtClay with a simple torch like our EZ or Blazer torch.
