Butcher Block Top Workbench

This is the nicest standard jewelers workbench we offer. The 1-3/8" thick butcher-block top is solid hardwood and sets this bench apart from its siblings. Just like the deluxe workbench, this bench is slightly wider and deeper than the basic workbench and has leg bracing for added stability. The cutout is similar to the basic workbench, not as deep as the deluxe. Comes with 2 armrests, tool tray, aluminum line a catch tray, 3 drawers, bench pin and mandrel holes. Shipped knocked down, simply bolt legs onto body to assemble. Made in California, USA.

Shipping Information: Workbenches are shipped via truck freight only.  Standard FedEx or UPS shipping is not available as FedEx and UPS regularly damage workbenches in transit and then refuse to pay for damages.  Truck freight delivery rarely incur damages, and if damages do occur, the freight companies we deal with will cover damages. We do not offer a freight calculator link for estimating freight charges due to the difficulty in receiving reliable quotes. Freight charges are paid directly to the freight carrier, on delivery.

We have recently started a program with a reliable freight contractor that lowers freight costs.  Instead of shipping freight collect, freight charges are prepaid, saving processing fees. Recent increased competition among freight carriers and decreased fuel costs have helped lower prices as well. We have seen freight costs 10 to 20% lower this year as compared to 2008.

Common variables for delivery that freight companies charge extra for include but are not limited to-residential delivery, lift gate required, call before delivery, inside delivery and rural delivery.  The least expensive freight charges will be to a commercial address (commercial is defined by the freight carrier and means a business address in a non residential area with Monday thru Friday business hours) with the ability (dock high door, fork lift, several able body persons) to remove the item from the truck without the assistance of the driver.

To help you with estimating freight charges, below is a list of several recent freight charges customers have paid to have their benches shipped. The chart includes the part number of the bench, the zip code of the delivery address, whether or not a liftgate and residential delivery was needed, the estimated charges from the original freight quotation, and the actual charges paid by the customer for delivery.  Please note that the actual charges paid were often more than the quotation.  That is due to the freight company charging for the actual freight delivery situation they encountered.

As you can see, freight charges vary due to the size and weight of the bench and the distance from our warehouse in Oakland, Ca.
