Product Details

Antilope jewelers sawblades are recognized around the world as one of the best jewelers sawblades you can buy. Antilope sawblades are consistently straight and true, extremely sharp and perfectly tempered. Made in Germany, their outstanding quality is the result of years of experience matched with the most modern production methods.

Otto Frei sells Antilope Blue Label Jewelers Saw Blades made by Niqua of Germany.  Antilope saw blades are harder and therefore less forgiving than Hercules brand sawblades, the other major brand made by Niqua of Germany. Antilope saw blades are favored by experienced professional jewelers who can appreciate the added hardness which makes these sawblades a bit more prone to breakage on inexperienced hands.

Jewelers Saw Blades are 130 mm (5.125") long and are used in jeweler's saws and fretsaws. They will not fit coping saws.

This is how the Niqua factory describes them:
The antelope blue saw blades were developed well over 100 years ago and thus belong to the first generation of jewelry saw blades. They are the original fretwork blades for goldsmiths and jewelers. They are often referred to as metal saw blades because their special hardness, positive cutting angle and pronounced round back make them suitable not only for sawing gold and silver alloys, but also for sawing hard metals through to stainless steel. The saw blades are hardened blue and bound by the dozen with silver wire.
