European Sheepskin Bench Apron

Jewelers in Europe are familiar with using the classic leather bench apron or bench skin to catch their fillings. We import these top quality leather bench aprons to be used as catch trays. They can be custom fitted to our John Frei workbenches or used with your own bench. This is the sheepskin version of the leather bench apron. It is more supple than the cowhide version, and has a smoother feel. Like the cowhide version, it is hand sewn with reinforced edges, and it has a single grommet in front for hooking the apron back when not needed. This apron has a 3-1/2" long canvas strip sewn on top that is drilled or fasten using hooks or such to the underside of your workbench. The apron measures 30" long by 21" deep when folded in half, and when spread out it will fit an opening from 20" to 36". The best working width is between 24" and 28". TECH TIP: Leather aprons are easy to keep clean and make keeping precious metal scrap types separate a necessary procedure. To protect from accidental soldering damage, simple let the front of the apron hang lose or hook it back away from the danger zone when needed.  Also called a lap cloth or a bench lap cloth
