18K Gold Plumb Solder Kit

This kit contains three different 18K yellow gold plumb solders, one piece each of 18K yellow gold easy flow, 18K yellow medium flow, 18k yellow hard flow, each approximately one half of a pennyweight (1/2 DWT) in weight, for a total of approximately 1-1/2 DWT.

 

These are hard solders for use with a torch.  Easy, medium and hard are terms used to describe these solders flow relative to each other.  The easy flow solder will flow before the medium flow solder that will flow before the hard flow solder.

 

These are plumb gold solders, use for manufacturing.  Plumb gold solders are the same karat as the work they are recommended for, and differ from repair solders which are of a lower gold content than the work they are recommended for. Use plumb gold solders for the construction of new jewelry pieces, use repair gold solders for repair work. Repair solders should flow before plumb gold solders.
