Presidium PDMT-A DiamondMate Diamond Tester

The Presidium PDMT-A DiamondMate is a diamond tester that uses a thermal conductivity test to separates all known diamond simulants except moissanite from diamonds. This thermal conductivity tester will does not distinguish between mined diamonds and lab grown diamonds. The test results are indicated by visual light and audible beeps, with the added feature of an intermittent beep if contact is made with metal. Powered by three alkaline AAA batteries or by optional AC 120V adapter. Batteries not included.

*Moissanite has the same thermal conductivity as diamond. This thermal conductivity tester, like all diamond testers that only test for thermal conductivity, will test a moissanite as a diamond. Moissanite can be identified with diamond testers that also check for electrical conductivity, such as the Presidium Multitester, or Moissanite specific testers, like the Presidium Moissanite tester. Moissanite is doubly refractive, and can be identified visually by trained professional Gemologists using a simple 10X jewelers triplet loupe.
