Melting gold cleanly starts with a crucible that resists oxidation, and this replacement graphite crucible is sized for 30 troy ounce (approximately 1 kilo) Kerr Electro Melt models. It is made from virgin graphite rather than the compressed graphite commonly sold, a denser material that produces a heavier crucible with a bright, shiny, smooth surface when new and provides maximum resistance to oxidation through the melt cycle. It is manufactured exclusively for Otto Frei as a direct replacement for Kerr part numbers 29478 and 35620.

To avoid cross-contamination, use a separate crucible for each metal type.
