This set of 12 five-sided cutting broaches covers a size range from 0.4 mm to 4.5 mm and includes a double-ended pin vise broach holder—making it a complete, ready-to-use solution for cutting, cleaning, and finishing holes in metal. It contains the same 12 broaches as the 115.500 set, with the addition of the pin vise handle for immediate use at the bench.
All broaches are made of high-quality steel and are uniformly tempered for extended working life. Lengths vary from 66 mm (2-5/8") for the smallest broach up to 150 mm (5-7/8") for the largest. Each broach tapers along its length: the smallest begins at 0.4 mm at the tip and tapers to 0.7 mm at the handle; the largest begins at 3.3 mm and tapers to 4.5 mm at the handle.
These are English Pattern Broaches sized using the Stubs grading system—an obscure measuring system originating in England. The Stubs numbers correspond to markings from an English screw plate by Peter Stubs of Warrington, Lancashire, a well-known maker of watch and clockmaking tools in the early 1800s.
