Glardon-Vallorbe Joint Round Edge Precision Files - LP1170/LP1171

A joint round edge file lets you cut in depth inside a tight, narrow slot without widening it, because the file is parallel in both width and thickness, has rounded edges and is cut on the edges only. The Glardon-Vallorbe LP1170 and LP1171 joint round edge precision files, also known as Chenier files, are engineered for exactly that kind of exacting work.

Jewelers rely on these files for fabricating joints, hinges and tubing, and they are equally valued in guitar repair and lutherie for bridge and nut slotting. All 12 thicknesses range from 0.3 mm to 2.0 mm in cut 2 (medium), with a 100 mm (4") cut length, a 10 mm (0.39") width and a 5-5/8" overall length including the tang. Each file is supplied with a tang and no handle.
