How to Use

1. Extend the tip by rotating the pen body until the diamond tip is fully exposed.
2. For metal marking, lightly scribe your line as you would with any standard scriber.
3. For a preliminary stone check, gently draw a short line on an inconspicuous area of the stone's surface.

Interpreting Results

• If the stone shows a visible scratch: it is not a diamond.
• If the stone does not scratch: further testing is required to confirm the stone's identity.

Notes

• Destructive test: This method may scratch the stone. Only perform this test if surface damage to the stone is acceptable.
• This tool does not differentiate between natural and lab-grown diamonds.
• This tool does not differentiate between diamonds and moissanite.
• Its sole screening function is to indicate that a stone which scratches under the tip is not a diamond — a non-scratch result does not confirm diamond identity.
