Solderite Soldering Boards - Soft Compound

A soldering board gives the bench a flat, heat-reflective surface to solder on, and the soft compound version is the one you can push pins into and press work against.

Solderite Soldering Boards in the soft compound formula are 3/4" thick and softer than the standard 1/2" Solderite boards. That softer composition lets you stick pins directly into the board and press impressions into the surface to hold workpieces securely in place during soldering. Solderite boards are OSHA approved as an asbestos substitute and are made of calcium silicate with inert fillers and reinforcing agents for strength. They reflect heat well and cool down quickly after use, which makes them more efficient than ceramic or silquar boards on larger soldering jobs, and they give a cleaner working surface than charcoal blocks or firebrick.
