Notes

Safe materials for ultrasonic cleaning: gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, rubies, sapphires, amethyst, and citrine are generally safe for ultrasonic cleaning.

Do not clean in an ultrasonic: soft, porous, or heavily included stones, including emeralds, opals, turquoise, pearls, amber, and ivory, may be damaged by ultrasonic waves, heat, or sudden temperature change. Ultrasonics do not remove tarnish.

Watches: do not submerge watches in an ultrasonic. To clean a metal watchband only, place it in the basket so it does not contact the tank bottom, and keep the watch head and movement suspended above the water. Never place a non-waterproofed watch in water. Make sure the crown stem is fully inserted or screwed in before any contact with water. Proceed at your own risk.

Important operating guidelines:

• Do not operate in continuous mode, because extended soak times can damage items. Ninety-five percent of cleaning occurs within the first 30 seconds.
• Never place items directly on the tank bottom. This may damage the transducer and will void the warranty.
• Always keep solution filled to at least 3/4 capacity; 7/8 full is optimal.
• Use only non-ammoniated, non-flammable ultrasonic cleaning solution. Pre-mix concentrated solution with water before adding it to the tank.
• Allow the ultrasonic to run for a few minutes before cleaning, called degassing, for best results.
• To extend solution life, carefully pour off the clean top solution each morning, discard the settled debris at the bottom, and replenish with fresh pre-mixed solution. Always check discarded solution for valuables.
