Smith MW411 Single Flame Recessed Headtube/Tip for Platinum

The Smith MW411 is a one-piece single-flame recessed headtube and tip designed specifically for casting platinum using an oxygen/propane fuel mix. Built for use with the Smith Equipment WH100 casting torch handle (Otto Frei part number 114.395), this headtube features a single recessed orifice that concentrates heat effectively for high-temperature casting applications.

Rated for casting up to 3 oz. of platinum, the MW411 is also well-suited for casting other precious metals, including gold and silver alloys. While Smith Equipment notes compatibility with oxygen and natural gas as an alternative fuel combination, a natural gas pressure booster is required to achieve sufficient operating pressure. Natural gas is not suitable for melting platinum but may be used for melting gold and silver alloys when paired with the appropriate pressure booster.
