Description

EarthCoat™ Black-Free™ is a cyanide-free black antique plating solution that deposits a rich, easily relievable black finish on a wide range of metals. Supplied ready to use, it offers straightforward setup and consistent results, making it an operator-friendly alternative to solvent black lacquers.

Basic Process

  1. Heat Black-Free™ to approximately 130 °F and connect leads (work – / anode +).
  2. Plate 30–60 seconds at 3–4 V; adjust time and voltage for part size and desired darkness.
  3. Rinse, then relieve high areas with light abrasion to create the antique look.
  4. Optional: apply a clear lacquer after relieving to add sheen and protect the finish.

  • UPS or FedEx Ground only. Not eligible for postal service (USPS).

  • This product is subject to California Proposition 65 requirements regarding nickel exposure.
