Open a drilled starter hole into a clean, secure seat for the rondelle of the stone. Busch Fig. 231F, 231FL, and 231FXL carbide circular cutters are precision tools designed for the second step of pavé setting in hard metals: after drilling starter holes with a carbide twist drill, these circular cutters enlarge each hole to seat the stone. The smallest 0.40 mm cutting width is especially suited for cutting in tight corner areas and fine refinishing work. All three run on a 3/32" shank.
Carbide burs offer the longest service life of any burs Otto Frei carries, outlasting both tungsten vanadium and high-speed steel burs. They perform on the most demanding metals, including platinum, titanium, and steel, while also delivering exceptional longevity on standard gold alloys. Manufactured in Germany using advanced production techniques, these burs feature a powerful blade geometry typically reserved for steel tooling. Sold individually.
