Description
A goldsmithing hammer trues and moves metal at the bench, with a rounded face at one end and a rectangular cross peen at the other. The Fretz HMR-21 Goldsmithing Hammer is modeled after popular German-made goldsmithing hammers, combining traditional form with refined craftsmanship. Bill Fretz built elegance, beauty, and function into the classic design and weighted the head at 96.4 grams, so the hammer is ready to use straight out of the box.
Most goldsmithing hammers need reshaping or polishing before first use. The HMR-21 arrives with a head that is already precisely shaped and mirror polished to professional standards. The longer handle, 11-1/4" end to end, echoes the proportions of traditional German goldsmithing hammers, and the rosewood handle is slightly thicker at the end for a secure, balanced grip. The hammer is made in Vietnam.
