This fixture holds a coin steady at the bench so a hobo nickel artist can carve it under a microscope without the work shifting. The Jura by GRS 502-508 Hobo Nickel Holder is a dedicated accessory built exclusively for the Jura by GRS 3X system, and it is not compatible with any previous version of the Jura QC system.

At the heart of the holder is a brass collet system engineered for the coin sizes hobo nickel artists work with most. The outer portion of the vise delivers a sturdy clamping mechanism that reduces vibration during engraving, an essential quality for detailed coin carving work. Attaching the orbital ball to the bottom of the fixture lets the artist tilt and rotate the vise, keeping the working area centered under the microscope at all times.
