Because these lever backs use set rivets rather than soldered construction, any soldering work requires a specific process: remove the set rivet, disassemble the finding before applying heat, then reassemble and re-set the rivet once soldering is complete.

The hinges in lever backs should be lubricated with a small amount of mineral oil or a similar lubricant to keep them operating smoothly. This is especially important after cleaning in an ultrasonic cleaner or a steam cleaner.
