Description
Named by the Egyptians as the "gem of the sun," peridot is plentiful and generally inexpensive. Ranging from transparent yellowish green to greenish yellow, traces of iron are responsible for its distinctive color. This lime-green gem is found in irregular nodules formed deep inside the earth and brought to the surface by volcanic activity. These round faceted genuine peridot stones are eye-clean with a medium to dark yellowish green tone, making them well-suited for setting in finished jewelry or resale. Clean with warm, soapy water only. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners.
