Run them through several 5–10 minute cycles using a polishing compound such as Otto Frei OF 610 Magnetic Tumbler Solution or #750 Powdered Shot Cleaner. Do not mix with other pins or use on finished metals until the break-in process is complete. The pins are ready for use when they no longer turn the water solution black.
