Thermo-Fix Soldering Clay

Part # 154.465 89 In Stock Weight -- lb -- g
Current price $56.00

Description

Thermo-Fix soldering clay holds small parts in position at the bench and shields heat-sensitive areas while you solder, acting as a localized heat shield so adjacent surfaces see less heat from the torch. AGILO makes this reusable clay in Germany. Apply it in layers 5–10 mm thick. It is graphite-free, non-fuming, asbestos-free, and water-soluble for easy cleanup.

Features

  • Reusable clay for positioning parts and shielding heat
  • Recommended layer thickness: 5–10 mm
  • Graphite-free, non-fuming, asbestos-free, and water-soluble
  • Rinses or brushes off with water
  • Rehydrates with a small amount of water if it dries out

Compatibility

Suitable for use with common jewelry metals and solders.

Notes

Directions:

  1. Knead a portion until pliable, then apply a 5–10 mm layer around the areas to be protected, or use it to fixture small parts.
  2. Seat the workpiece securely and avoid blocking solder flow or fluxed joints.
  3. Solder as usual, focusing the flame on the joint rather than directly on the clay for extended periods.
  4. Allow the work to cool, remove the clay, and rinse any residue with water. Return usable clay to an airtight container.

Safety:

  • Use in a well-ventilated area and wear eye protection.
  • Not for use with flammable or toxic compounds.
  • Keep away from children and store sealed when not in use.
