10X Triplet LED/UV Light Loupe

Reach for this loupe at the bench when a stone needs a fluorescence check and a setting needs a close look, both under light the loupe carries itself.

This 10X triplet loupe features a top-quality 20.5mm diameter aplanatic and achromatic glass lens combined with two independent lighting systems: a bright ring of white LED lights and a separate single UV (ultraviolet) light. Each light source is activated by its own miniature on/off switch. Because simultaneous use of the LED and UV lights is not practical, the loupe functions as either an LED loupe or a UV loupe at any given time.

The UV light has a wavelength of 380–390nm and is used for checking fluorescence in diamonds. Diamonds with fluorescence appear cloudy when viewed under the UV light. The white LED ring provides bright, even illumination for general gemological and jewelry inspection tasks.

The loupe is powered by three (3) L936 (Eveready 394) button cell batteries, accessed via a threaded cap that can be opened with a coin. Each loupe comes in a soft leather case packed inside a cardboard box.

Because the LED light renders the UV light unusable when both are active, only one light source should be used at a time.
