Metal Bonded (Nickel) laps are more heat resistant and preferred for heavier material removal. Resin Bonded laps are slightly more forgiving on delicate surfaces and suited for final finishing.
Diamond abrasives are graded in microns (µm). Higher micron numbers indicate larger abrasive particles and a coarser cut. Due to diamond's extreme hardness, each grit efficiently removes the previous scratch pattern.
