The Optivisor AL-S1 from Donegan includes four interchangeable acrylic lens plates, giving jewelers, metalsmiths, and watchmakers the flexibility to choose the ideal magnification and working distance for any job. The AL series uses acrylic (plastic) lenses in place of the optical glass found in Donegan's premium OptiVisor line, offering the same renowned Donegan comfort and headband quality.

Lens plates swap out easily, allowing you to switch between magnification levels without interrupting your work. When selecting the right lens, consider your preferred working distance. The focal length listed is the distance from the lens plate (not your eyes) at which objects are in sharpest focus. The diopter number in the upper left corner of each lens plate indicates its approximate power.

The focal length for each lens plate is the distance from the lens plate to the work surface, not the distance from your eyes. A higher magnification brings you closer to your work: lens plate #7 places you approximately 6 inches from the object, while lens plate #3 allows a more comfortable 14-inch working distance. Choose based on the task and your preferred bench posture.
