Foredom K.2220 Flex Shaft Kit

A flex shaft system for the jeweler who spends the day at the bench grinding, drilling, carving and polishing with 3/32" shank burs, the standard shank most professional jewelers already own. The Foredom K.2220 is built around the Foredom M.SR motor, a 1/6 HP reversible ball bearing motor that runs up to 18,000 RPM without stalling or slowing under normal load, and the H.20 Quick Change lever style handpiece, whose fixed 3/32" collet opens and closes in a single motion so bur changes take seconds. Speed comes from the included FCT foot control, and this is the 115V version, the standard supply for the USA, Canada and Mexico.

The kit is close to the Foredom K.2230, with one distinction: the K.2220 carries the H.20 Quick Change lever style handpiece rather than the H.30 Jacobs chuck handpiece, which trades the chuck's range of shank sizes for faster tool changes during production work.

Compatibility

The H.20 handpiece takes a fixed 3/32" collet, so this kit runs burs and bits of 3/32" shank diameter only and is not compatible with any other shank size. The standard flexible shaft and sheath connect to any Foredom or compatible quick disconnect handpiece.

Notes

• Caution: when using screw top mandrels with unmounted polishing wheels, running the motor in reverse may unscrew the mandrel and release the wheel. Use only pre-mounted polishing wheels that are permanently mounted on mandrels when operating in reverse.
• A 220V / 240V international version of this kit is also available.
