Onglette gravers cut the fine lines that engravers, stonesetters, die sinkers, jewelers, and watchmakers work with every day, on all types of metals as well as wood, bone, ivory, and onyx. These are the Glardon-Vallorbe LO0403 HSS onglette traditional gravers, which require shaping and fitting into a handle before use.
Glardon-Vallorbe makes many different onglette gravers in both High Speed Steel (HSS) and carbon steel. This series is High Speed Steel, which is harder than carbon steel, holds an edge longer, and requires less frequent sharpening when working with most metals, making it the professional's choice for demanding engraving work.
These Swiss Made HSS gravers are recognized as the finest quality jewelers' engravers on the market, identified by the Fish trademark and the Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made brand name. Usines Metallurgiques de Vallorbe SA (UMV) manufactures them in Vallorbe, Switzerland. They were previously sold in the USA under the Grobet name, and since 2015 they have been marketed under the Glardon-Vallorbe factory brand, the same name used throughout the rest of the world. Jewelers, engravers, and stonesetters everywhere rely on the consistent quality and perfect temper of these precision-made gravers.
