14K Yellow Open Top Spring Rings 4mm to 8mm

Finishing a chain requires a clasp that closes securely and opens with a fingernail. Spring rings are the most popular type of clasp used for chains worn around the neck: secure, reliable, and easy to use. These 14K yellow gold open top spring ring clasps are round hollow tubes with a tiny coil spring inside and an attached jump ring for connecting to one end of a chain. A movable, spring-tensioned bolt carries a lever; push the bolt back with your fingernail to open the clasp, and the internal spring inside the tubing holds the bolt firmly closed. Opening and closing a spring ring requires two hands.

These clasps carry an open top jump ring for easy attachment to one end of a chain. The jump ring can be twisted closed, but that method is not secure. Do not use torch heat to solder the jump ring closed, because the internal spring will be damaged by heat. The correct method is to close the jump ring with a laser welder or a tack welder.
