I have a 2.8 ct. stone- Do you recommend a 2.5 ct. setting or a 3 ct. setting?

Our setting for 2.5 carat size is for a 12.5mm x 7mm stone. The 3 carat size is for a 13mm x 8mm. Since not all stones are cut the same way better to measure your stone and then pick the closest setting to the largest measurement (12.5mm vs. 13mm). In general, stonesetters prefer to open up a setting a little bit compared to having to try and shrink one.
