Compact, shallow setup for jewelry-scale chasing and repoussé. This kit pairs a 6-1/4″ × 7/8″ cast iron pitch bowl with a properly sized rubber pad and 5 lb of Nechamkin Medium Green Pitch. The organic pine rosin–based pitch softens with gentle heat for forming and firms up for crisp chasing and light planishing — all sourced from a single trusted supplier and ready to put to work.
Features
-
Ready to work: Correct bowl, pad, and quality pitch included — no guesswork on sizing or compatibility.
-
Tunable support: Keep pitch slightly warmer for deeper repoussé; slightly cooler for firmer, crisper chasing detail.
-
Natural pine rosin–based pitch: Grips securely when cool and softens evenly when warmed; not asphaltum-based.
-
Shallow bowl profile: The 7/8″ depth is well suited to fine jewelry-scale work where a lower working surface is preferred.
-
Rubber pad included: Increases bench stability and protects the work surface.

Notes
-
Setup tip: Weight the bowl base with concrete for stability and to conserve pitch. Before the concrete sets, press a few finger depressions into it so the pitch keys in securely.
-
Heating guidance: Break pitch into small chunks and warm gradually. Many shops use a 250–300 °F oven for even softening; a hot-air gun also works — keep heat moving to avoid hot spots.
-
Safe use: Pitch must never be heated to bubbling or smoking. Always wear eye protection and work with adequate ventilation.
-
To release metal: Rewarm the surface slightly and lift; wipe residues while pitch is still warm.
-
Natural product: Minor batch-to-batch variation in color and firmness is normal for pine rosin–based pitch.
