The burs are Otto Frei Swiss Tungsten Vanadium setting burs, machine made to ultra high precision tolerances for uniformly perfect geometry, smooth cuts, and zero chatter or drag in precious metal. Twenty sizes run 1.00mm – 8.00mm, and every bur has a 3/32" shank.

Tungsten Vanadium burs differ from High Speed Steel (HSS) burs in one key way. HSS burs are individually hand cut, so no two are exactly alike, while Tungsten Vanadium burs are machine manufactured for consistent, repeatable performance across the entire range. HSS burs offer greater longevity, but Tungsten Vanadium burs deliver reliable precision at a lower price, which makes them the top selling choice for everyday setting work.

The kit ships in a wood bur box, keeping the bench organized and the burs protected between uses.

Compatibility

Every bur in the kit has a 3/32" shank, which fits standard flex shaft handpieces.

Notes

Tungsten Vanadium burs are machine made for consistent precision but are not as long lasting as USA made High Speed Steel (HSS) burs. For high volume or demanding work that needs maximum bur life, consider HSS setting burs. For everyday setting where uniformity and value come first, Tungsten Vanadium is the industry standard choice. The 3.25mm size is not part of this set; the sizes step from 3.00mm directly to 3.50mm.
