14K Yellow Flat Ring Open Top Spring Rings 4mm to 6mm

These 14K yellow gold flat ring open top spring ring clasps from WR Cobb use a flush mounted jump ring attachment instead of the standard 90 degree attachment, so the clasp lays smoothly against the back of the neck for comfortable, low profile wear. Sizes run 4.0–6.0 mm and each clasp is sold by the piece.

Spring rings are constructed from round hollow tubing with a tiny coil spring inside. A movable, spring tensioned bolt with a lever is opened by pressing it back with a fingernail, and the internal spring holds the bolt firmly closed. Opening and closing a spring ring takes two hands. These clasps carry an open top jump ring for easy attachment to one end of a chain.

Important: Close the open jump ring after attachment. It is sometimes simply twisted shut, but that is not a secure closure. Do not use torch heat to solder the jump ring closed, because the internal spring will be damaged. The correct method is to close the jump ring with a laser welder or tack welder.
