Each Guardian II Positive Locking Post & Back Set pairs a Guardian II comfort trigger ear nut with a matching 2 notched ear post, sold together as one set. The comfort triggers snap firmly around a groove on the post, and release requires simultaneous compression of both tabs. Positive locking backs descend from the French ZOP system introduced in the late 20th century, and the Guardian II refines that legacy with larger, easier-to-use triggers. WR Cobb makes these sets in the USA from 100% recycled precious metal, in 14K yellow, 14K white, 18K yellow, 18K white gold and platinum, and holds ISO 14001:2015 Environmental and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification.

The ear nut and the post in each set are matched to one another, so no separate fitting is needed. Post diameter is 1.07 mm / 0.046 in and post length is 11.0 mm / 0.433 in.

Care and maintenance: Clean Guardian II ear nuts with alcohol only. Do not use polishing compounds, rouge or other cleaning agents. Avoid excessive heat and keep the mechanism free of small particles or residue, which can affect how the lock works.
