Castaldo Quick-Sil Soft & Flexible is a two-part room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) silicone putty that produces tough, strong, long-lasting production jewelry molds for lost wax casting with 0% shrinkage. This is the newer, softer version of Castaldo's popular Quick-Sil RTV Mold Rubber — softer in relation to the original formula, which is now designated as Firm & Flexible (see part number 122.613).
Safe, non-hazardous, and non-toxic, Castaldo Quick-Sil Soft & Flexible produces no unpleasant fumes or odors during use. Mixing is straightforward: combine equal parts of Part A and Part B by hand. No precise measuring or vacuum degassing is required to achieve optimum results. No vulcanizing is needed, though best results are obtained when the material is clamped under pressure — such as in a vise or an unheated mold press. Detailed instructions are included with every kit.
While designed primarily for lost wax casting molds, Castaldo Quick-Sil Soft & Flexible can also be used for direct casting of low-temperature metals such as lead, tin, and pewter.
