Description
Fire bricks give the bench a carvable, highly insulating surface for soldering and for building a heat enclosure around larger work. Lightweight and soft, these kiln bricks can be used flat as a soldering surface or arranged into a protected enclosure for large-scale heating applications, which makes them a staple on a jeweler's or metalsmith's bench.
Each brick measures 9" wide by 4-1/5" deep by 2-1/2" tall and is rated for temperatures up to 2300°F (1260°C). The soft material carves and takes pins, so the surface can be shaped to hold a workpiece securely during soldering. Bricks are sold individually.
