Fretz F-2A ライニング・コンベックス・フルーティング・ステークは、F-2 ドーミング・ステークで初期成形を行った後に使用する、プログレッシブ・ステーク工程の第一段階です。凹状のフルートを作り始めるために設計されたF-2Aは、フルートを鋭いエッジにすることなく、緩やかで流れるような凹曲線を形成します。この制御された段階的なアプローチにより、金属を保護しながら、金属加工職人が形状を少しずつ整えられます。

全工程は、F-2B シャープ・コンベックス・フルーティング・ステーク、そしてF-2Cへと続き、各段階で高い部分をより鋭く明確なレリーフへと仕上げていきます。F-2Aはこのシリーズにおける不可欠な出発点であり、精密で再現性のあるフルート形状の基礎を築きます。
