Fretz R-101 Large Raising T-Stake-7" Across

A raising stake gives you the shaped steel surface to work flat sheet up into a hollow form, one hammer blow at a time. The Fretz R-101 Large Raising T-Stake is a professional-grade forming stake for traditional silversmithing and large-format metalwork. At 7" (178 mm) tip to tip, it carries the working surface needed to raise full-size vessels and other substantial hollow forms. It is cast from 420 stainless steel and hardened to 50 HRC, so it resists the denting and rust that trouble traditional cast iron stakes, and it shares the material standard of the full line of Fretz hammers.

The highly polished working surface helps produce clean, consistent results through a raising sequence. Sold individually.

Notes

For best results and to reduce bounce and arm fatigue, Fretz recommends mounting the stake in a Fretz stake holder (112.720) secured to a stump or a heavy workbench.
