Description

These abrasive strips tension in a jeweler's saw frame so you can sand and polish inside pierced openings and around settings that a sanding stick cannot reach. G-Tac Slurry Coated Polishing Strips bring a refined approach to fine and extra-fine abrasive work in the jewelry studio: slurry coating embeds multiple layers of grit into the binder resin, producing a finer finish than conventionally coated abrasives of the same grit size, which makes these strips well suited to detail work on precious metals.

Each strip fits into any standard jeweler's saw frame in place of a blade, opening up new possibilities for reaching tight, hard-to-access areas that are difficult to work with conventional abrasive tools. Used like a polishing string or cord, the saw frame holds the strip under tension so you can work one-handed while guiding the workpiece with the other. Constructed from tough rayon with silicon carbide abrasives, these strips feature micron grading technology that produces particles of exceptionally uniform size. The result is a consistent finish with no high or low spots across the surface. Strips can be used wet or dry.

Jewelers familiar with traditional polishing string or cord will recognize the technique. The saw frame tensions the strip between its arms so you can work it back and forth across the piece like a string, reaching into pierced openings, between gallery wires, and around settings that conventional sanding sticks cannot access.

Features

  • Slurry coating embeds multiple grit layers in binder resin for finer results than conventionally coated abrasives of equivalent grit
  • Works like a traditional polishing string or cord, tensioned in any standard jeweler's saw frame
  • Fits any standard jeweler's saw frame for precision abrasive work in hard-to-reach areas
  • Pairs especially well with Anderson Miniature Sawframes for improved control on detail work
  • Made from tough rayon with silicon carbide abrasives
  • Micron grading produces uniform particle size for a consistent, even finish on precious metals
  • Suitable for use wet or dry
  • Nine grades spanning 360–4000 grit for a complete fine-finishing progression
  • Color-coded by grade for quick identification at the bench

Compatibility

The strips work in any standard-size jeweler's saw frame. For the best control on small and intricate work, use them with the Anderson Miniature Sawframes (part #149.753 kit, or #149.750, #149.751, and #149.752 sold individually). The smaller frame is easier to maneuver in tight spaces and gives better tension control with two-handed work.
