The GEMS 10X 18mm Triplet Loupe in chrome is engineered for professional jewelers, gemologists, and appraisers who demand precision optical performance. Manufactured in Taiwan, this loupe is built to a higher standard than the majority of jewelers' loupes sourced from China or India.

The chrome case is assembled with riveted construction rather than screws. Riveted cases maintain their tension indefinitely, while screw-based cases are prone to loosening, becoming floppy, and eventually losing the fastener entirely — a common frustration for working professionals.

The triplet lenses are produced in Japan using the highest quality optical glass and are treated with a special anti-reflective, scratch-resistant coating. The triplet design corrects for both spherical aberration (minimizing edge distortion) and chromatic aberration (eliminating color fringing at the edges), delivering a clean, accurate field of view across the entire lens.

10X magnification is the professional standard for diamond color grading and clarity grading. By GIA grading convention, if a clarity characteristic is not visible under 10X magnification, it does not exist for clarity grading purposes. Higher-power loupes are rarely used in gemological applications due to their extremely narrow depth of focus.
