Ceramic fiber files finish and polish into corners, grooves, and other tight spots where a steel file cannot work cleanly. The Glardon-Vallorbe LF1002-M is a thin, flat pillar-shaped stick of graded ceramic material measuring 1.0mm thick by 2.0mm wide by 100mm (4 inches) long, available in ten grits.
Use them full length by hand, or break them into shorter lengths to create custom micro-tools for the Badeco 8LC100 micro polishing and filing handpiece (compatible with flex shaft systems) or the Badeco 4LC100 (for use with a Badeco micromotor system). The ceramic fiber can also be shaped to a custom profile using diamond dressing stones or wheels, giving jewelers and metalsmiths precise control over their finishing tools.
Grits run from 120 (Extra Extra Extra Coarse) through 3000 (Extra Extra Extra Fine), covering aggressive stock removal through fine polishing.
Grit descriptions (Extra Extra Extra Coarse through Extra Extra Extra Fine) are subjective and are used to help differentiate between products.
