ImpGen Meco Midget 3-1/2" Head Tube Adapter

A cooler head tube keeps torch heat from traveling back down the barrel toward your hand during a long soldering session at the bench. This ImpGen 3-1/2" adapter is a direct replacement for the standard brass head tube on the Meco Midget torch, and it addresses one of the most common complaints with that torch by expanding what you can comfortably accomplish in a single sitting.

Engineered for durability and comfort, the adapter is constructed from twin tubes of special 304 stainless steel, a significant improvement over the simple brass tube it replaces. The brass tip carries cooling fins for additional heat protection, and torch-to-tip sealing can be performed face-to-face as well as by the nose-radius-to-inside-seat-angle method, reflecting careful engineering at this critical safety junction. A copper ferrule on the torch end of the adapter provides cushioning for a more secure seal at another key connection point.

Installation is straightforward: unscrew the existing Meco Midget head tube from the body and thread on the ImpGen Cooler Head Tube Adapter in its place. The manufacturer recommends using a suitable wrench for a firm final turn. Torch tips are then screwed onto the brass tip just beyond hand-tight using the same wrench. Always check for leaks before use, as with any torch.

Notes

• Use a suitable wrench for the final turn when threading the adapter onto the torch body
