Italian Disc Cutter Set of 18, 2mm to 12mm (3/32" to 1/2")

A disc cutter set punches clean, perfectly round blanks from sheet metal at the bench. This metric set from OMO holds 18 hardened tool steel punches spanning 2.0mm to 12.0mm (approximately 3/32" to 1/2"), each made to extremely close tolerances with a sharp straight cutting edge and a nail type striking head for consistent results. It is made in Italy and sold as a set with its cutting block.

The set is recommended for cutting gold, silver, copper, brass and thin sheets of nickel silver up to 18 gauge. The block is designed to be disassembled, so a punch that sticks in cut metal can be freed easily. For best results use a hydraulic press; a brass mallet on a rubber pad also works when used with care. The smallest punches are the most susceptible to breakage, individual punches are not guaranteed, and replacement punches are sold separately.

Notes

• For best results, use with a hydraulic press. A brass mallet on a rubber pad is also suitable with care.
• Always use a cutting lubricant such as Stay Sharp on the punch cutting edges before use.
• Support the opposite side of the cutter with a sheet of the same diameter metal to maintain alignment and minimize sticking.
• Place the disc cutter on a rubber pad for support during use. A 95 durometer urethane pad is recommended to extend cutter life.
• Never use a nail driving hammer. Use only a suitable brass mallet or a press.
• Keep the cutting edges oriented downward during use.
• To prevent rust, lubricate the disc cutter between uses and store it in a dry location.
• The smallest punches are the most fragile, so handle them with care. Individual punches are not guaranteed and are sold separately as replacements.
• Cut soft non-ferrous metals only, and do not exceed the 18 gauge maximum thickness recommendation.
