How to Use a Disc Cutter

1. Place the disc cutter on top of a rubber pad for support.
2. Apply a cutting lubricant, such as Stay Sharp, to the cutting edges of the punch.
3. Strike with a suitable mallet—never a nail-driving hammer; a brass mallet is recommended.
4. Support the opposite side of the cutter with a sheet of the same-diameter metal being cut to maintain alignment and minimize material sticking.
5. Do not exceed the maximum recommended metal thickness for the cutter.
6. Cut soft non-ferrous metals only: brass, copper, silver, and gold.
7. Ensure cutting edges are facing down before striking.
8. To prevent rust, keep the cutter lubricated between uses and store in a dry location.
9. Use with a 95 durometer urethane pad to extend the life of the cutters.
