Miller Smith H743 Flashback Arrestors-Torch Mounted-Pair

A combination flashback arrestor and check valve sits in the gas line to stop the reverse flow of gas and to extinguish a flashback fire before it travels back down the hose. The Miller Smith H743 is a torch-mounted pair, installed between the torch body and the hose.

These units are built for larger torches carrying type B (9/16") connections on the torch body itself, including casting and melting torches. The built-in check valve requires a minimum of 2 psi to open and allow gas to flow through. Two units ship per set.

Compatibility

• Torches with type B (9/16") connections on the torch body, including casting and melting torches
• These arrestors will not fit the Little Torch, Meco Midget Torch, Swiss Torch, or Swiss Torch II. Use the regulator-mounted combination flashback arrestor and check valve, 114.389, on those torches
• There are no torch-mounted flashback arrestors compatible with those smaller torch models

Notes

• A check valve stops the reverse flow of gas. A flashback arrestor extinguishes a flashback fire. These units do both.
• A flashback is an ignition of mixed gases within an oxy-fuel cutting or welding system and poses serious safety risks.
• Unit 114.389 (regulator-mounted) looks identical to these torch-mounted versions but has its flow restrictions oriented in the opposite direction, so the two types are not interchangeable.
