The NSK RG-01 Reduction Gear Attachment is an optional speed-reducing accessory that mounts between a compatible micromotor and handpiece, delivering greater torque at lower rotational speeds. Designed with stone setters and precision drilling in mind, it provides the steady, controlled power needed for cutting seats, drilling holes, and other detail work that demands consistent low-speed performance.

When attached, the RG-01 reduces output speed to approximately one-quarter of the speed indicated on the control box while multiplying torque by a factor of roughly four — based on an actual gear ratio of 3.92:1. This makes it especially valuable when working with delicate stones or materials that require smooth, unwavering rotation rather than high-speed cutting.
